Papa John’s Ends NFL Sponsorship Deal Months After Founder’s Criticism of Protesting Players

Papa John’s will no longer be “the official pizza of the NFL,” as the pizza chain announced today that their relationship with the sports league will not continue into next season.

With the last NFL season mired in controversy, Papa John’s was ultimately caught up in the NFL national anthem protests with their former CEO John Schnatter being forced to step down after criticizing kneeling players for their negative impact on business. In a statement confirming the break-up, the companies said the following, per ESPN:

“The NFL and Papa John’s have made a mutual decision to shift from their official league sponsorship to a focus on partnerships with 22 local NFL teams, presence in broadcast and digital media, and key personalities in the sport.”

While Papa John’s was the NFL’s choice pizza chain since 2010, this departure makes the company the first sponsor to drop the league — with the two entities claiming the move is in both of their best interests.

The pizza chain also received heavy criticism online after the alt-right and far-right figures began endorsing Papa John’s over Schnatter’s remarks toward kneeling NFL players. The company was then cornered into condemning their new extreme supporters.

CNN’s Keilar Calls Out Georgia Pol Who ‘Promised’ Proof of Delta Planned Parenthood Claim

CNN’s Brianna Keilar is continuing to call out the Georgia state senator who made the claim to her Tuesday that Delta has business ties to Planned Parenthood.

Michael Williams railed against Delta for cutting ties to the NRA before claiming the NRA supports Planned Parenthood.

Keilar asked, “Where is the discount — you’re saying — where are you getting that, that Delta gives a discount to Planned Parenthood members?”

After going back and forth, he said, “Bring me back on and I’ll have the information for you about where they’re giving away these discounts to left-leaning organizations that support Planned Parenthood.”

Keilar promised to update viewers on Twitter, and, well, she did:

Sean Hannity Issues Correction on ‘Scripted’ CNN Town Hall Claim After Email Admission from Father

Following Tucker Carlson‘s concession, Sean Hannity very briefly updated viewers on the latest part of the CNN town hall email saga.

After being accused of “scripting” a question for one of the Parkland students, CNN denied the accusation and released the full email exchange after doctored versions were shopped around.

The father of student Colton Haab has now admitted to “omitting” a key phrase in the email, but he claims it was not on purpose.

Towards the end of his show tonight, Hannity updated his viewers and said, “Our job is always to strive for the truth and we want to correct the record.”

He then segued right into a short field piece of Tomi Lahren talking to people in “the swamp.”

Hope Hicks Reportedly Admitted to House Panel She Tells ‘White Lies’ for Trump Sometimes

Hope Hicks testified before the House Intel Committee behind closed doors today and, even though there were a bunch of questions she would not answer, there was one thing she got a bit candid about.

President Trump is, to put it incredibly charitably, prone to making untrue statements, and per The New York Times, Hicks conceded she’s had to tell the occasional lie too:

Hope Hicks, the White House communications director, told House investigators on Tuesday that her work for President Trump, who has a reputation for exaggerations and outright falsehoods, had occasionally required her to tell white lies.

But after extended consultation with her lawyers, she insisted that she had not lied about matters material to the investigations into Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election and possible links to Trump associates, according to three people familiar with her testimony.

Hicks declined to answer questions about her time in the White House and concerning the transition period.

This news comes on the heels of reporting from CNN tonight that the Mueller probe is questioning witnesses about the President’s business dealings with Russia pre-2016. Hicks has already sat down with Mueller’s team.

Roku Keeps NRATV Despite Pressure to Drop Channel: We Don’t ‘Censor Based on Viewpoint’

Despite mounting pressure to do so, the company behind the streaming platform Roku has opted to not drop NRATV from its system’s services, citing the organizations commitment to not “censor based on viewpoint.”

In the days following the recent Parkland, Florida shooting that resulted in the death of 17 people, pro-gun control activists have called for different tech companies to drop NRATV from their platforms. Roku, as well as Apple, Google, and Amazon, were targeted with the #DumpNRATV hashtag.

Roku defended their decision to keep the channel run by America’s largest Second Amendment group, saying:

“While the vast majority of all streaming on our platform is mainstream entertainment, voices on all sides of an issue or cause are free to operate a channel. We do not curate or censor based on viewpoint. We are not promoting or being paid to distribute NRA TV. We do not and have not ever had a commercial relationship with the NRA. Their channel is free to consumers with no ads. We welcome Moms Demand Action and other important groups to use our platform to share their messages too.”

Despite other streaming services receiving constant demands and petitions to drop NRATV, Roku is the only one to respond so far.

They further defended their decision by saying NRATV has not released “content that is unlawful, incites illegal activities or violates third-party rights, among other things.”

“If we determine a channel violates these policies, it will be removed. To our knowledge, NRA TV is not currently in violation of these content policies,” concluded the company.

New Book From County Clerk Kim Davis Details Encounters With ‘Furious, Fist-Pounding Homosexual Men’

Guess what? Kim Davis, that county clerk who gained notoriety for denying marital bliss to gay couples, is writing a book.

The subject matter? Her “dramatic encounters with furious, fist-pounding, homosexual men and the hate mail that flooded her office,” according to Davis’ publisher.

Under God’s Authority: The Kim Davis Story, is the title of the book which will apparently seek to justify why the small-town county clerk took it upon herself to defy a U.S. federal court order to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. On an unrelated note, Davis herself has been married four times to three different men.

The book will be sold by Orlando-based Liberty Counsel, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader, which self-describes as “a nationwide public interest religious civil liberties law firm,” and defended Davis in her legal battles.

“Kim chronicles her dramatic encounters with furious, fist-pounding, homosexual men and the hate mail that flooded her office,” a description of the book read. “Kim takes you behind-the-scenes of the unlikely saga that took America by storm in 2015.”

“She tells how God transformed her life in 2011, why she almost retired in 2014, and how she knew — six months before the U.S. Supreme Court’s disastrous 2015 same-sex ‘marriage’ opinion — she was headed for jail.”

Former Arkansas Governor turned amateur comedian Mike Huckabee wrote the foreword for the book. You may recall he headlined Davis’ televised release from prison, a mighty spectacle replete with the Lord, foam crosses, and a tearful walk-out to Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger.”

Mueller’s Team Reportedly Asking About Trump’s Business Dealings With Russia Prior to 2016

CNN is reporting some pretty big news on Robert Mueller‘s probe tonight: the special counsel’s office is looking into President Trump‘s business dealings with Russia prior to the 2016 election.

According to CNN, Mueller’s investigators have been asking a number of people about Trump’s “business activities in Russia prior to the 2016 presidential campaign as he considered a run for president”:

Questions to some witnesses during wide-ranging interviews included the timing of Trump’s decision to seek the presidency, potentially compromising information the Russians may have had about him, and why efforts to brand a Trump Tower in Moscow fell through, two sources said.

The lines of inquiry indicate Mueller’s team is reaching beyond the campaign to explore how the Russians might have sought to influence Trump at a time when he was discussing deals in Moscow and contemplating a presidential run… Two of the sources said they do not know from the questions asked whether Mueller has concrete evidence to indicate wrongdoing.

One point of note in the report is one source saying Trump had been thinking about running back in 2014. But the President said this rather definitively earlier this month:

There have been questions to witnesses about possible Russian dirt on Trump and his 2013 travel to Moscow for Miss Universe.

Tucker Carlson Concedes ‘No Evidence’ CNN Tried to Give Scripted Question at Town Hall

After fanning the flames last week, Fox News’ Tucker Carlson conceded tonight that there is “no evidence” CNN tried to give anyone scripted questions at last week’s town hall.

Carlson spoke to Colton Haab last week after he alleged he was given a “scripted” question by CNN. CNN subsequently released the email exchange between his father Glenn Haab and a CNN producer after doctored emails were shopped around to other news outlets.

Haab’s father admitted today to “omitting” some words in the email.

After the emails were released on Friday, Carlson accused CNN of hypocrisy in “questioning the integrity of a survivor.”

Tonight Carlson said initially the response of the Haab family was that “they were being slandered by CNN.”

But now, with Colton’s father admitting the words were removed, Carlson conceded this:

“For the sake of honesty and full disclosure to which we are committed, we have to tell you there is no evidence as of right now that CNN tried to give Colton Haab a scripted question, and we wanted you to know that.”

Ben Carson’s HUD Reportedly Spent $31k of Taxpayer Money on Custom Dining Room Set

Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson is under fire once again, as his executive division reportedly used $31,000 of taxpayer money to purchase a dining room set for the former presidential candidate’s office.

According to the New York Times, Carson’s department bought a set of custom chairs, a table, and hutch for him to use after Candy Carson demanding her husband’s office be redecorated. The costly purchase was met by an official complaint, as Helen Foster was removed from her position for shooting down the request — which caused the department to go over budget — that was eventually granted by her replacement.

HUD spokesperson Raffi Williams claimed Carson was not aware that “the table had been purchased,” even though the secretary has not plans to return the purchase.

“In general, the secretary does want to be as fiscally prudent as possible with the taxpayers’ money,” added Williams.

Additionally, Carson’s office did not go through the proper loopholes to buy the dining room set, as departments looking to exceed the $5.000 price tag for furnishing must receive approval from Congress, which HUD did not do. In response, the department’s inspector general is examining the matter with a focus on the dabbling of Carson’s family.

Carson is certainly not the only administration official critisizied for using taxpayer money for personal comfort. Ex-Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price was forced to resign after spending exuberant amounts of cash on chartered flights, while Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke is taking heat for his own costly air travel.

CNN’s Erin Burnett Grills WH Spox Over Jared Kushner: Has He Used His Role to ‘Benefit Himself’?

CNN’s Erin Burnett repeatedly confronted White House deputy press secretary Raj Shah tonight over Jared Kushner losing top secret clearance.

Shah started out by saying he won’t be commenting on any security clearance issues, but Burnett pressed and noted how significant a role Kushner has in the White House.

“Jared Kushner is at the center, Raj, of some of the biggest decisions impacting Americans right now,” she said. “He can’t do his job without top security clearance. So what will happen to him now?”

Shah declined to respond to her “speculation,” saying John Kelly still has “full confidence” in Kushner’s ability to do his job.

Burnett asked again how exactly Kushner’s supposed to do his job without that level of clearance. He declined to comment on the clearance issue again before she moved onto the bombshell report that foreign officials have talked about “manipulating” Kushner. Which Shah also declined to comment on.

He instead criticized how such information is being leaked, saying there are reports in places like The Washington Post and CNN that are just not true.

Burnett then directly asked him, “Because of who Jared Kushner is and the central role that he holds, can you promise that he did not, at any time, use his role with President Trump to try to bail out his own personal finances?”

Shah again declined to specifically comment again and said they’re cooperating with the special counsel, leading to Burnett asking again if Kushner’s ever used his role “to benefit himself.”

CNN’s Toobin Compares Jared Kushner to an Intern: He Doesn’t Really Know Anything

In light of Jared Kushner’s White House security clearance being downgraded, CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin suggested President Donald Trump’s son-in-law should enter the “White House intern program” since he doesn’t “really know anything.”

After the administration botched the clearance status of ex-White House adviser and alleged domestic abuser Rob Porter, chief of staff John Kelly attempted to clamp down on the issue last week. After a year of only being able to obtain interim Top Secret clearance status, Kushner was further downgraded today to just a Secret level.

Toobin responded to this revelation by tearing into Kushner for not being properly qualified for his job:

“We have an intern program for people who are not experienced and they can get up to speed on things. Monica Lewinsky was in the program. But Jared Kushner was not in the intern program. He was in a very high level post in which he remains. So I don’t really think it’s a very sympathetic argument that, ‘well, he was new to the job. He didn’t really know anything. We should cut him a break.’ That’s for the internship program and we don’t put interns in charge of Middle East peace which is apparently still, to this day, Jared Kushner’s job.”

It is unclear when and if Kushner will be able to regain his Top Secret status — much less a permanent clearance — as that will be up to Kelly to decide, since the president punted the issue to him today.

“I will let General Kelly make that decision,” said Trump regarding Kushner’s clearance level. “I have no doubt he’ll make the right decision.”

Father of Parkland Student Reportedly Admits to ‘Omitting Some Words’ from CNN Email

So remember the controversy from last week about whether CNN’s town hall featuring Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school students was scripted? Well, now there’s a new piece of this story coming out.

To recap, this all started when Colton Haab said, “CNN had originally asked me to write a speech and questions, and it ended up being all scripted.”

CNN denied that they scripted questions for anyone in the town hall, and later sent out the email exchanges after doctored emails were shopped around to other media outlets.

The doctored email changed the sentence from the CNN producer from “This is what Colton and I discussed on the phone that he submitted. He needs to stick to this” to “This is what Colton and I discussed on the phone. He needs to stick to this.”

Well, per the Associated Press, Glenn Haab––Colton Haab’s father––”acknowledges omitting some words from the email but says he didn’t do it on purpose.”

After CNN released those emails last Friday night, Tucker Carlson reacted by calling CNN hypocrites for “questioning the integrity of a survivor because it suits them.”

Roger Stone Corresponded Directly With WikiLeaks Despite Both Claiming Otherwise

Despite both Donald Trump confidant Roger Stone and Wikileaks claiming they did not communicate directly with one another, new Twitter messages revealed by The Atlantic the two corresponded with each other during the 2016 presidential election.

WikiLeaks claimed to not have talked with Stone in a March 2017 tweet…

…and the informal Trump advisor — while testifying under oath — told the House Intelligence Committee in September 2017 that he only talked to the controversial group via an “intermediary,” but the new direct messages show the two corresponded just weeks before the election.

The October 16, 2016 messages between the two went as follows, via The Atlantic:

STONE: “Since I was all over national TV, cable and print defending wikileaks and assange against the claim that you are Russian agents and debunking the false charges of sexual assault as trumped up bs you may want to rexamine the strategy of attacking me- cordially R.”

WIKILEAKS: “We appreciate that. However, the false claims of association are being used by the democrats to undermine the impact of our publications. Don’t go there if you don’t want us to correct you.”

STONE: “Ha! The more you ‘correct’ me the more people think you’re lying. Your operation leaks like sieve. You need to figure out who your friends are.”

WIKILEAKS: “Happy?”

WIKILEAKS: “We are now more free to communicate.”

The communication between the two is particularly noteworthy, as Stone’s longstanding relationship with the president brings-up questions over whether or not Trump had knowledge of his confidant’s relationship with WikiLeaks and Julian Assange — amid their release of damaging info against his opponent Hillary Clinton.

Stone did note the messages were real, but suggested they were not of importance — telling The Atlantic the DMs are “ridiculously out of context” and “a paste up.” This statement confirming the correspondence comes after Stone told lawmakers under oath that he “never said or written that I had any direct communication with Julian Assange and have always clarified in numerous interviews and speeches that my communication with WikiLeaks was through the aforementioned journalist.”

Woman Claims Las Vegas Mogul Steve Wynn Raped and Impregnated Her in the ’70s

Per police reports obtained by the Associated Press, a woman recently told Las Vegas police that casino mogul Steve Wynn raped her multiple times in the 1970s and that he impregnated her. She went on to report that she later gave birth to the child in a gas station bathroom.

The woman said that Wynn, who recently stepped down as the CEO of Wynn resorts following reports that he sexually harassed or assaulted numerous women, raped her at least three times in the early- to mid-’70s. The assaults allegedly happened at her apartment in Chicago.

Another woman told police that in 1976, she had consensual sex with Wynn while she was a casino dealer but that she was forced to resign from her job at the Golden Nugget in 1976 when she turned him down.

Aside from stepping down from his position at Wynn Resorts following sexual misconduct accusations, Wynn also resigned as RNC Finance chair last month.

Colbert Defends Decision to Bring Sean Spicer to Emmys: ‘I Actually Felt a Little Bad for Him’

Stephen Colbert faced a bit of criticism when he brought out Sean Spicer, former press secretary for President Donald Trump, during last year’s Emmy Awards.

Colbert had been pretty silent on the matter until today. He appeared on Howard Stern’s radio program and discussed the decision to put Spicer on that stage, as well as noting if he had any regrets.

To start off, Colbert said that though Spicer is alleged to have often lied on behest of the president throughout his stint as press secretary, he has apologized and therefore is deserving of something resembling a second chance.

“I think Sean would say he lied for him at this point because he’s apologized for the sort of things he’s done,” Colbert said.

On that note, the late night host said he never thought it was a mistake to bring Spicer to the ceremony, saying he didn’t regret it “not for a moment.”

Colbert also took critics to task, saying that fears that the appearance would “rehabilitate” Spicer were completely misplaced.

“He was the punchline to a much longer joke which was about Donald Trump,” he said. “I actually felt a little bad for him because I was using this guy as a punchline. I had zero fear that it would rehabilitate him.”

The former Emmy host concluded by saying, “He is not rehabilitated by being the punchline of a joke.”

Some Foreign Officials Have Reportedly Talked About Ways to ‘Manipulate’ Jared Kushner

On the heels of reports that Jared Kushner has lost his top-secret security clearance, there’s a shocking new report out on how foreign officials were thinking about ways to “manipulate” him.

Per The Washington Post:

Officials in at least four countries have privately discussed ways they can manipulate Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law and senior adviser, by taking advantage of his complex business arrangements, financial difficulties and lack of foreign policy experience, according to current and former U.S. officials familiar with intelligence reports on the matter.

Among those nations discussing ways to influence Kushner to their advantage were the United Arab Emirates, China, Israel and Mexico, the current and former officials said.

The report says it’s “unclear” if anyone acted on those talks, but the anonymous officials sourced here say there are serious concerns here about Kushner’s contacts with foreign officials.

In fact, those contacts may have been a factor in why he didn’t get permanent security clearance. Back in April 2017, it was reported that he was not entirely forthcoming the first time around.

One former White House official says people within the Trump administration were “concerned that Kushner was ‘naive and being tricked’ in conversations with foreign officials.”

NRATV Host Claims Parkland Shooting is Like Benghazi: ‘This is What Liberal Leadership Gets You’

NRATV’s resident TV-destroyer and white genocide conspiracy theorist Grant Stinchfield believes that “liberal leadership” — not America’s problem with gun violence — is to blame for the Parkland, Florida shooting, just like in “Benghazi.”

During a segment with veteran Kris Paronto, who was part of the CIA’s security team during the 2012 infamous attack in Libya, Stinchfield likened the recent school shooting that resulted in the death of 17 people to the Benghazi incident.

Stinchfield said the following while discussing what took place at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School earlier this month:

“You know, I can’t help but draw comparisons to Benghazi. Now that was a terrorist attack, you could make the argument that this guy was a terrorist in what he rained down on that school. You had so many warnings, Kris, you and the men that you fought with over there warned about Benghazi over and over again that there were threats and there were security flaws and issues there. Now we see that there were warnings over and over again. We as Americans, I’m sad to say, we’re not learning lessons from other events and we could have learned – whether it was Benghazi or any other school shooting, this school wasn’t ready and they should have been.”

Paronto, who has used his post-Benghazi fame to incorporate himself into the conservative movement, agreed with the NRATV host and blamed both Benghazi and Parkland on “politicians and political correctness.”

“We’re not looking at common sense anymore, we’re letting agendas drive this. And when we let agendas drive this, we let left-wing agendas drive this, and I’m going to say this specifically when we let left-wing agendas drive this, this is what we see,” Paronto said.

With the NRA taking significant heat for their post-Parkland response — which included their lead spokeswoman Dana Loesch claiming the media “loves mass shootings” — Stinchfield appeared to be pivoting the argument away from America’s gun violence issue and dredging up the old anti-Hillary Clinton Benghazi talking points.

“It sounds like Hillary Clinton ‘What difference does it make?’ Continued Stinchfield. “This is what liberal leadership gets you. No responsibility, no accountability, we’ve got people dead from Benghazi, we’ve got people dead at Parkland and liberal leadership is at the height of all of it.”

As bizarre as the host’s claim was, it’s not even the Stinchfield’s craziest moment. He has also suggested Black Lives Matter wants to have white people “tortured and killed,” destroyed NRA’s own TV with a sledgehammer in a response to the media, and asked North Korea to launch a nuke toward California.
