Grammys Honor Those Who Passed Away This Past Year, Including Tom Petty

As in every awards show, the Grammys paid tribute to the people in the industry who are no longer with us.

Country singers Chris Stapleton and Emmylou Harris sang “Wildflowers” over a montage honoring those in the music industry who passed away in 2017.

Those honored included rock legends Tom Petty and Chuck Berry, and grunge icons Chester Bennington, of Linkin Park, and Chris Cornell, of Soundgarden.

The video is filled with names you may not even remember have died, like Jerry Lewis, or others that will simply punch you in the gut.

This isn’t the most fun part of these awards ceremonies, but they are certainly among the most watched, reminding us that we are all part of this human tapestry and, like everyone who preceded us, our time here is short. Happy Sunday!
