Former acting Attorney General Sally Yates is sounding the alarms about President Donald Trump‘s recent demands for an investigation into whether or not the “FBI/DOJ” spied on his campaign.
On May 20, Trump called for an investigation into “whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes – and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration!”
Branding it “Spygate,” he also warned a few days later, the presence of spies in his campaign “could be one of the biggest political scandals in history!”
I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes – and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration!

Speaking to David Axelrod in an interview that aired on The Axe Files Saturday night, Yates noted that Trump’s tweeted out demands for an investigation into his self-described “Spygate” accusations are not business as usual for a president, and are actually, “truly unprecedented.”
“You know, this has really taken the assault on the rule of law to a new level,” Yates said, warning about Trump’s words.
She added that from the beginning, “President Trump has not observed the time-honored norm that’s been in place at least since Watergate that there should be a real division between the Department of Justice and the White House.”
Then addressing Trump’s demands for an investigation directly, the former acting Attorney General fired by Trump told Axelrod, “And here it’s even a step beyond a dangerous point because it’s not just directing a criminal investigation or to stop one… it directly relates to his campaign.”
She then stressed: “That’s truly unprecedented.”
