Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) denied both drinking all the beer at a Nine Inch Nails concert and attempting to get into one of their recent shows, after the band’s frontman, Trent Reznor, lobbed the allegations.
“To all the gullible reporters who are ‘reporting’ that I asked to be on the guest list at a Nine Inch Nails concert: uh, no, NIN is not my music taste,” Cruz wrote in a tweet posted Friday. “He was clearly joking. And for the record, I also didn’t ‘drink all his beer’ the last time…but I would have!

During a recent concert, Reznor said the Texas senator “might be here tonight. He was bugging to get on the guest list, and I told him to fuck off.”
He also accused Cruz of drinking “all the beer” and being “a pain in the ass to be around” at a previous Nine Inch Nails concert the Republican supposedly attended.
“Who voted for Ted Cruz? See, the lights aren’t on, I can’t see,” Reznor said at another point during the same concert. “Is there any way to turn the lights on? I’d like to see.”
He then told the Cruz-voting audience members to “raise your hand, you guys, nothing to be ashamed of, just checking.”
