Ocasio-Cortez Blames Jeanine Pirro’s Anti-Muslim Rhetoric For Death Threat Against Ilhan Omar

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez blamed Fox News host Jeanine Pirro for the death threat against fellow House Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar.

Ocasio-Cortez took to Twitter to tie Pirro’s anti-Muslim rhetoric to the Trump supporter arrested on Friday after calling Omar’s office and threatening to kill her.

“Understand when Jeanine Pirro goes on Fox + rallies people to think hijabs are threatening, it leads to this,” Ocasio Cortez wrote. “Folks who imply we’re ‘bad’ for politics, the party, the country, etc. have no idea the threats we deal w/ because of that kind of language.”

“Talk policy, not personal,” she added.

Pirro was suspended by Fox News for two weeks after she suggested that Omar’s hijab means she adheres to Sharia law instead of the U.S. constitution. Pirro refused to apologize and was back on air last week.

The New York man arrested for threatening to kill Omar reportedly called the congresswoman a “terrorist” and said, “I’ll put a bullet in her fucking skull.”
