Chris Hayes Mocks ‘Chief Propagandist’ Hannity Over ‘Hilarious Reversal’ on NYT Mueller Story

As we reported on Thursday evening, after Fox News’ Sean Hannity spent a portion of his program slamming the New York Times for reporting that President Trump ordered the firing of Special Counsel Robert Mueller, the Trump loyalist was forced to do a 180 when Fox News confirmed the story.

On Friday night, MSNBC’s Chris Hayes had some fun at Hannity’s expense over his flip-flop.

Stating it had been a “remarkable 24 hours over at Trump TV,” the All In host highlighted the efforts Fox News went through to downplay the report. Taking special aim at Hannity, Hayes rubbed some salt in the wound.

“Because the story broke shortly before his show, the president’s chief propagandist had to scramble to figure out how to cover it which led to a hilarious reversal in less than an hour,” Hayes noted. “First he dismissed the story but after finding his network confirmed parts of it, he changed course. The story may be true, so what. It doesn’t matter before abruptly throwing to a car crash from the day before.”

The MSNBCer also played clips of Fox & Friends asking its audience if they even cared and correspondent John Roberts walking back the network’s own reporting.
