Fox News’ Guilfoyle Likens CNN Town Hall to ‘Roman Theater’: ‘Are They Going to Feed Him to the Lions?’

In what is likely a harbinger of what’s to come from tonight’s Fox News primetime lineup, the hosts of The Five tore into last night’s emotionally raw and contentious CNN town hall forum that featured Parkland students and community members engaging with Florida lawmakers, an NRA spokesperson, and a sheriff over last week’s horrific shooting.

After Jesse Watters called the event “really ugly” while giving Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) credit for “going into the belly of the beast,” Kimberly Guilfoyle slammed the forum because “people were very rude and very disrespectful.”

“I don’t like that at all,” she added.

She went on to say she really enjoyed what President Donald Trump had done the previous two days because there was “thoughtful discussion and deliberation.” This led Guilfoyle to go back towards ripping the town hall held by Fox News’ competitor.

“When I see something like this, it becomes almost like Roman theater,” she stated. “Are they going to feed him to the lions next? I’m just not sure what’s happening there.”

Guilfoyle continued, “Yes, I applaud Marco Rubio and Dana Loesch for going because they want to be part of the solution. They are not afraid to address people who have differing viewpoints. But you want to be able to hear them. Give them the opportunity to speak. Otherwise, it is just very, like, circus-y.”

Watters would jump in to say the forum — which included survivors and family members of deceased victims angrily confronting the invitees — reminded him of conservative speakers on college campuses getting drowned out by liberal students.
