Following her appearance on The View earlier this week, HLN’s S.E. Cupp found herself embroiled in a feud with late-night host Jimmy Kimmel. During his program Tuesday night, Kimmel addressed Cupp’s criticism of him, as she wondered aloud if he’d offer the same platform to Monica Lewinsky that he was giving Stormy Daniels.
Needless to say, Kimmel didn’t take too kindly to Cupp’s critical comments and lashed out, pointing out that he had interviewed Lewinsky several times in the past, leading Cupp to respond on Twitter. This afternoon, at the end of her HLN program, Cupp delivered a short monologue addressing the beef while seemingly attempting to get the last word.
Noting that she likes Kimmel and admires “his passion” on social issues even if she doesn’t necessarily agree with him, Cupp went on to rail against his interview with Daniels.
“My point was in this #MeToo moment, there was a good way to talk about how women are treated,” she stated. “Having a porn star on to rebut the State of the Union address and not answer questions about the alleged affair and play with puppies is not a good way to have a serious conversation.”
After saying that she betted that she and Kimmel were “on the same side,” she ended her show with these comments:
“While it’s important to hold Trump’s feet to the fire, hearing from Monica Lewinsky today would have been a much better use of his very significant platform. OK, I’m done.”
