Seth Meyers Defends Michelle Wolf, Calls Out WHCA for Statement Criticizing Her: ‘You Hired Her!’

Seth Meyers offered his support to Michelle Wolf on Monday as the Late Night alum continues to take heat over her much-buzzed-about White House Correspondents Dinner performance.

Donald Trump is among those criticizing Wolf over her Saturday night routine, and since the president brought up the time when Meyers roasted him years ago, the NBC funnyman remarked on how nice it is that “the eye of Sauron is upon [me].” As for the rest of POTUS’ slams, Meyers threw Trump’s words back at him.

“She is filthy and she is mean, which is what we love about her, because those are wonderful qualities for comedians and terrible qualities for free world leaders.”

Meyers proceeded to knock the White House Correspondents Association over their rush to distance themselves from Wolf after he monologue. He also kept saying that the WHCD got exactly what they asked for when they hired Wolf for the job.

“I was her boss and she made the meanest jokes about me all the time,” Meyers said. “We’re lucky to have her.”
