Former FBI director James Comey encouraged Americans to keep asking why President Donald Trump, despite his constant attacks on pretty much everyone, does not similarly go after Vladimir Putin.
Thought experiment: Make a list of all the public figures in this country and around the world the current president has criticized.
Ask yourself: “Why is Putin missing from the list?”
No responsible American should ever stop asking, “Why?”

During his book tour, Comey said even in private, Trump would not criticize Putin.
Comey himself is one of those people Trump has gone after. Just today the White House said the President is considering revoking the security credentials of him, John Brennan, Michael Hayden, James Clapper, etc.
There is one small point of note on that:
I just texted @Comey asking whether he even has a security clearance to revoke.
“Nope,” he responded. There’s nothing for POTUS to revoke. Comey says he was “read out” when he left government as per normal practice. 1/2

He even recently declined a temporary clearance from the IG to read the classified annex to the IG’s recent report. He didn’t want to see any classified material lest the president accuse him of leaking it. 2/2

Comey was appalled by Trump’s performance in Helsinki last week and tweeted, “This was the day an American president stood on foreign soil next to a murderous lying thug and refused to back his own country. Patriots need to stand up and reject the behavior of this president.”
