Senator Richard Blumenthal asked a panel of Trump officials on Tuesday to raise their hands if they thought the president’s zero tolerance immigration policy, which separated migrant children from their families, was “a success.”
“Let me ask this panel, who here thinks that zero tolerance has been a success?” the Connecticut Democrat asked the officials during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the reunification of migrant families. “You can just raise your hand if you think it’s been a success.”
Not one official raised their hand. “Who thinks that the family separation policy has been a success — raise your hand,” he continued.
