First, there was executive time at the White House. Now, it seems there is also something called “policy time.”
According to Washington Post reporter Josh Dawsey, policy time “was installed earlier this year to help him focus on issues. A [Chief of Staff John] Kelly creation. It sometimes goes better than others.”
The effort to get Trump to focus on policy was not lost on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, which quickly turned policy time into a kindershow complete with a catchy preschool-friendly tune.
“Policy time, put down your phone. These are things your brain should know,” a sunny voice sings in the clip that aired Wednesday night. “We know you would rather golf.”
The scene then moves to giant food trying to explain policy to Trump. In response, Trump takes a bite out of the big donut before the scene ends.
