On Wednesday, Fox News’ Juan Williams called out his fellow The Five co-hosts for trashing celebrities when just weeks ago they were drooling over Kanye West.
It all happened after Jesse Watters pointed out that Oprah Winfrey was hitting the campaign trail in Georgia less than a week before the midterms and Taylor Swift announced publicly she voted for a Democrat.
Co-host Greg Gutfeld starting out by noting that Oprah is different than folks like Alyssa Milano and Will Ferrell.
He then continued on by saying the negative impact of a moralizing celebrity of limited intellect — not Oprah — is canceled out by “the positive impact of their famous face.”
He added: “When somebody gets into politics as a celebrity, they are stunted. It’s like their politics are back where they were when they decided to chase fame.”
The panel then suggested that sounds like Taylor Swift.
“It’s even worse than that. It’s not like ten years. It’s the fact, what do they do for a living? They don’t think. They memorize lines of the people right” guest co-host Jeanine Pirro chimed in.
Gutfeld then stressed that everybody had a right to their opinion but that you needed to consider where they are in the “road to life.”
“What do they know, what is their experience, what is it based on?” Pirro asked. “I’m famous therefore believe me and everyone in my ilk?”
That is when Williams pointed out that just weeks ago, the folks at The Five were fawning over Kanye West.
“A couple weeks ago you told me Kanye West, he’s great, oh he’s so smart,” Williams exclaimed, calling out their analysis. “Talk about a Halloween surprise!” The panel pounced.
Williams also pointed out that Donald Trump was also a celebrity politician.
Williams is right, by the way. Just weeks ago Watters indeed called West “a modern-day philosopher” during a gushing panel praising the Trump-loving celebrity.
