Longtime Trump Bodyguard Keith Schiller Reportedly Being Paid From GOP ‘Slush Fund’

Keith Schiller, President Donald Trump‘s bodyguard-turned-White House exec-turned Republican security guru, is allegedly being paid $15,000 a month from what campaign finance watchdog organizations are calling a “slush fund.”

Schiller, who is the bodyguard named in Ronan Farrow‘s recent bombshell story about an alleged affair Trump had with a Playboy bunny, was ousted from his post as deputy assistant to the president by Chief of Staff John Kelly back in September.

Shortly after, Schiller’s firm took a lucrative gig with the RNC for “security services” where he is reportedly doing security consulting for the 2020 Republican National Convention. The firm has been paid a total of $75,000 since October.

“These sorts of party accounts are notorious for being operated as slush funds — lightly regulated and ripe for abuse,” Stephen Spaulding — the chief of strategy for the watchdog group Common Cause — told CNBC.

An RNC official pointed out to CNBC that Schiller is being paid from the RNC’s convention fund rather than its campaign fund, but Spaulding said it was still problematic.

“Convention fund donations buy plenty of influence and access,” he said. Now it looks like they’re helping to keep Schiller’s firm afloat.”
