After fanning the flames last week, Fox News’ Tucker Carlson conceded tonight that there is “no evidence” CNN tried to give anyone scripted questions at last week’s town hall.
Carlson spoke to Colton Haab last week after he alleged he was given a “scripted” question by CNN. CNN subsequently released the email exchange between his father Glenn Haab and a CNN producer after doctored emails were shopped around to other news outlets.
Haab’s father admitted today to “omitting” some words in the email.
After the emails were released on Friday, Carlson accused CNN of hypocrisy in “questioning the integrity of a survivor.”
Tonight Carlson said initially the response of the Haab family was that “they were being slandered by CNN.”
But now, with Colton’s father admitting the words were removed, Carlson conceded this:
“For the sake of honesty and full disclosure to which we are committed, we have to tell you there is no evidence as of right now that CNN tried to give Colton Haab a scripted question, and we wanted you to know that.”
