Marjory Stoneman Douglas student and activist Emma González responded to Kanye West‘s tweet calling her his hero by naming a hero of her own.
Last night Kanye West, who has recently made waves for his pro-Trump support and social media posts, tweeted out a picture of González.
Underneath he wrote: “My hero Emma Gonzalez.”

In response, González tweeted out a photo of her hero, James Shaw Jr.

James Shaw Jr. was hailed as a hero after he wrestled a gun from a shooter at Waffle House in Nashville last Sunday. A total of four people were killed in the attack.
Just hours after the shooting, Shaw also started a GoFundMe page to help support the victims of the attack. As of Sunday afternoon, nearly $200,000 has been raised.
González, one of the most outspoken survivors of the Parkland school shooter, has channeled her energies to call for stricter gun control laws to prevent deadly shootings like those that happened at her school and in Nashville.
