A CNN panel exploded Thursday night after former Trump campaign spokesperson Jason Miller kvetched that President Donald Trump was being blamed for Roseanne Barr‘s racism because people like to “blame everything” on the president.
It all happened on Anderson Cooper‘s show during a discussion when panelist Karine Jean-Pierre said Trump has a race issue.
“I grew up in New York City, I know exactly who Donald Trump is,” Jean-Pierre said. “We had to listen and watch him when I was growing up…He has a race issue. Honestly, the problem isn’t Roseanne Barr — the problem is Donald Trump.”
“I don’t think you know President Trump at all,” Miller replied, adding, “Everything is triggered on trying to blame everything on President Trump.”
That is when fellow conservative panelist Tara Setmayer pounced.
“Donald Trump has a race problem, it is clear,” Setmayer shot back. “He has a long history of this, of established bigotry; he was sued for it. We have known comments he made over the years. I grew up in New Jersey. I know what he did in Atlantic City…”
Miller then tried to say Trump won over more black voters than Mitt Romney.
“Why didn’t he condemn David Duke right away?” Setmayer said, undeterred. “Because of Republicans like you…I’ve had to deal with this for 20 years…You’re cheering that 5 percent of African Americans voted for him, that’s pathetic…We have a racial problem in the Republican party.”
Things just got more heated from there.
