President [Donald] Trump needs a vacation. Badly. At least two weeks so we the people get a break from the incessant media hatred directed toward him.
If you go on Bill O’Reilly‘s website right now, that’s what you’ll see as his message of the day: Trump is apparently so worn out from making America great again (I guess), he needs to go on vacation at once. The former Fox News host especially recommends some time for Trump at his Bedminster golf course.
But hey? Remember all those times when Trump criticized Barack Obama for going on vacation? If you don’t, maybe this will jog your memory:
Pres. Obama is about to embark on a 17 day vacation in his ‘native’ Hawaii, putting Secret Service away from families on Christmas. Aloha!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 19, 2013
or this:
The Obama’s Spain vacation cost taxpayers over $476K http://t.co/W6kIpd5x They love to spend money.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 27, 2012
OR this:
Can you believe that, with all of the problems and difficulties facing the U.S., President Obama spent the day playing golf.Worse than Carter

Putting Trump’s Obama-vacation tweets aside, it’s really quite ludicrous for O’Reilly to say that Trump doesn’t get enough downtime. Whenever the president’s not at work, he’s usually watching something on TV. How do we know this? Well, he’s told us so, over and over and over again.
If nothing else, its preposterous to think that Trump doesn’t get enough time on the golf course. Trump told the Internet just a few days ago that he was golfing during his diplomatic trip through Europe. Only a few weeks before that, Trump went to his Bedminster club for the weekend — crashing a wedding party (once again) in the process.
If O’Reilly really wants to have a chat about Trump’s golfing habits though, then let’s chat. Mar-a-Lago’s label as the “Winter White House” caught on in the public discourse precisely because of the frequency of Trump’s weekend golf outings during the cold months. Mediaite has previously documented the frequency of these trips, and as of the end of last year, Trump has played more golf than Obama did throughout his entire presidency.
This all comes at a cost:
Judicial Watch previously noted that Trump’s travel expenses to Mar-a-Lago and Bedminster have cost over $13.5 million as of the beginning of this year. Subsequent reports suggest that the costs now exceed $17 million, and after running the numbers, Washington Post has found that these price tags eclipse those for Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russia.
But I digress from O’Reilly’s message of the day:
If Trump doesn’t go on vacay at one of his usual haunts, O’Reilly has an idea of where POTUS might be able to relax instead:
I’d like to see the President go to Martha’s Vineyard where the Obamas vacationed. That would be fun as the ultra-liberal island in Massachusetts would go absolutely nuts. There’s not much to do in the Vineyard other than to wear untucked shirts, but there is a golf course and various ice cream stands.
Maybe he and Alan Dershowitz can commiserate each other over the horrible, nasty, Martha’s Vineyard elitists who won’t go anywhere near either of them because of their dislike for the former.
Oh, and here’s a little bonus: O’Reilly says Vladimir Putin needs a vacation too:
Putin will probably vacation someplace where he doesn’t have to wear a shirt and can shoot things. We all need a break from him, too.
I mean, the Russian president ABSOLUTELY must feel overworked after meeting with Trump in Helsinki. POTUS only took Russia’s side over U.S. intelligence on the matter of 2016 election interference and is now calling it a “big hoax.”
Clearly, the summit was a grueling experience for Putin and now he needs some R&R too.
