Don Lemon Blasts Trump: He’s ‘Embracing His Inner Internet Troll’

On Wednesday, CNN’s Don Lemon opened up his Wednesday night show by blasting President Donald Trump for embracing his inner “internet troll” with his infamous treason retweet this morning.

“There’s really no other way to say this. No other way. The president of the United States is having a meltdown,” Lemon said. “Yes, again. And the reason is very clear. Robert Mueller is getting under his skin.”

Then, turning to Trump’s retweeting of an image accusing two former U.S. presidents and his own Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein of treason — a crime Lemon noted was punishable by death, Lemon said the tweet was plucked from the depths of the internet swamp.

“Please can we talk about the President’s retweet this morning of an image that comes from the depths of the Internet fever swamp? This is the president embracing his inner Internet troll, slamming a who’s who of prominent people the president and his supporters think of as enemies, and accusing them of treason, which, mind you, can carry the death penalty,” Lemon said.

He continued on: “It is impossible to overstate just how shocking it is for the President of the United States to retweet something like this, or it should be. And anybody who says it’s just a tweet, I want you to remember this. The White House has told us that this president’s tweets are official statements.”
